Course Description

Students will explore a wide variety of languages while creating fun interactive games. The course starts with Snap!, a visual block-based programming language where students will produce projects including Pong, Mario Bros, Space Invaders and re-creating movie scenes. Then students transition to a text-based program using the beginner-friendly and popular Python language. Projects include Mad Libs, Guess Who, Oregon Trail and an Escape House among others. Next will be Javascript which takes their programming and game design to the next level. Finally, students will learn to use Roblox Studio and create a variety of games that can be published for all to play on the Roblox Platform.
