Course Description

 

Horticulture II students will build upon the introductory skills learned in Horticulture. This course challenges students to become experts in the art and science of growing plants, shrubs, trees, flowers, fruits, and vegetables. In doing so, they cover a wide variety of topics, including principles of plant science, greenhouse and nursery operations, soils and growing media mixtures, fruit and vegetable production, interior and exterior plantscaping, irrigation systems, turf grass management, weed and pest control, and floral design. Students will be able to work towards a certification in Turfgrass Management, Floral Design and/or general Plant Science.
